Guangzhou’s three main commercial districts are located in the eastern part of the city, each featuring numerous Grade A office buildings. Foreign companies looking to open an office in Guangzhou will find the general eastern area convenient for its proximity to bus, subway and rail links to Guangzhou proper and the rest of China, as well as to shopping, restaurants and several five-star hotels such as the Westin, Ritz-Carlton and Grand Hyatt.
Guangzhou’s residential districts are clustered in the city-center, offering a high quality of life with easy access to the central business districts, shopping malls, restaurants and a variety of international schools.

Commercial District in Guangzhou
Tian He Be – Over the past 10 years, this area has been transformed into Guangzhou’s most fashionable and exclusive business address. It revolves around the city landmark, the CITIC building, a huge, 80-story multi-use complex that includes a shopping mall, office space and luxury-serviced apartments. Other Grade A commercial buildings include Center Plaza, Teem Tower and China Shine.
Pearl River New City – This up-and-coming commercial and residential district is slated by the Guangzhou government to become the official central business district by 2050. Already, several Grade A commercial buildings, some with commanding Pearl River views, are ready for occupancy. They include R&F Profit Plaza, CC Tower, Development Center and the International Financial Tower.
Yuexue – This neighborhood historically has been Guangzhou’s central commercial district though these days it looks nothing like the old days. Much like the top business districts in Shanghai and Beijing, Yuexue over the past 25 years has been transformed into a gleaming, modern, high-rise enclave. It’s filled with Grade A commercial buildings, especially along Huan Shi Road East, and it’s home to the five-star business Garden Hotel and the upscale Le Perle Shopping Center. Public transportation here is good, especially by subway.
